A CALL FOR ACTION

WHO ARE WE?

WHAT DOG BREEDS ARE USED?

LASD is an all volunteer search team founded in 1985 to serve with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  Trained dogs and handlers search for missing people in the wilderness and urban areas of LA County.  Cadaver dog teams also search in avalanches, collapsed buildings, and for victims of drowning.

Canine partners include Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, mixed breeds, etc.  Some have been "rescued" from shelters and now help to rescue people.
